We currently have a vacancy for a Telecommunications Electrician to undertake tasks associated with the telecommunications and IT infrastructure at Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark General Hospitals.
Carry out routine daily checking of the telephone switches, modifications to the telephone infrastructure wiring, relocation of existing telephones
Monitor the call logging equipment and the voicemail and auto attendant system
Liaise with external contractors (BT/Virgin) as required
Complete all record sheets and paperwork associated with routine duties accurately and in good time
Carry out electrical PPM’s and routine maintenance
Carry out work associated with Fire Alarms
Ensuring all work carried out is to current electrical standards ie IEE Regulations and associated codes of practice. To work in accordance with the requirements of HTM 2020, The Electrical Safety Code for Low Voltage Systems as appointed Competent Person (LV) for the Trust
Mentor staff and young persons (apprenticeship program)
Work 40 hours Monday to Friday – typically 0800 – 1630 hrs.
Able to participate on an call rota and work overtime when required
Travel between all 3 sites of the contract when required to carry out maintenance works.
We’re looking for:
Ability to demonstrate a background in the maintenance of telephone systems and telephone infrastructure
Previous experience working within a hospital environment NVQ level 3 in electrical engineering or equivalent
17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations Certificate (2381)
NVQ level 3 in electrical engineering or equivalent
