[Full Time] Shift Operator to build and support a strong H&S culture

Would you like to be an integral part of operating a truly innovative biogas plant for an international energy group?

Join us as Shift Operator at our new Renescience plant. Renescience is an innovative technology using enzymes to recover recyclable materials and generate energy from waste without incineration, thus reducing the amount of waste going to landfills. Our Northwich Renescience plant is a bioresource facility. Using the patented Renescience technology, enzymes react with organic materials from the household waste, leaving behind clean recyclables. As a result, the process helps achieve higher recycling rates compared to most traditional waste treatment processes and reduces the amount going to landfills. In addition, renewable energy is generated through the use of anaerobic digestion to produce biogas. There’s no incineration at the plant.

Your key tasks will be to

  • participate in building and maintaining a strong H&S culture within the organisation
  • cooperate and coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure maximum plant availability
  • collate and record technical data regarding product quality
  • provide a reactive response to equipment faults & breakdowns
  • operate and maintain mobile plants.

Furthermore, you’re an efficient user of business maintenance systems (SAP) and can create task-based work instructions and risk assessments. You’re proactive in maintaining the competence level required for the job.

Initially, you’ll be tasked with carrying out Ready-for-Operation tasks. You’ll also participate in the commissioning of the plant and familiarise yourself with the plant and its systems. In addition, you’ll train and build competences in the maintenance team. The maintenance technician’s role contains day-to-day coordination, planning and prioritisation of maintenance tasks to maximise uptime and enhance safety.

Your competences include that you

  • possess extensive knowledge and understanding of mechanical processing equipment
  • are highly focused on safety with proven knowledge and experience of QHSE, standards and best practice including SOPs and LOTO
  • are a team player
  • have good organisational and communication skills with the ability to communicate with others at a technical and non-technical level
  • have mobile plant experience – experience with shovel and tele truck loading is considered an advantage.

As a person, you’re a proactive and responsible profile who can work both independently and in a team. You possess the ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver solutions within a time-critical process environment. Essential to the role is also the ability to maintain a safe, secure and compliant work environment.
