BBC Events based at the BBC’s North HQ, MediaCityUK, works across all BBC divisions to bring the brands our audiences love into their back garden. We’re behind more than you think, the team has produced OBs such as The 1975 Live Lounge Symphony, Doctor Who Christmas Premieres, I Feel Love (for the 50th Anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality), Radio 2’s 50th Birthday and the Test Match Special 60th Anniversary Match, among others in Current Affairs, Sport, Comedy and Ents.
Furthermore, the team is the front-line link between the BBC and external event partners such as local government, universities, arts and culture bodies; maintaining working relationships with several stakeholders inside and outside the business to appropriately balance the BBC’s presence on the ground. We have an exciting mandate to create the best moments with the biggest brands in some exciting places and we’re currently recruiting a runner to help the team with a busy upcoming season.
This is a four-month contract in the first instance and we’re looking for someone who can start straight away. Please note interviews will be held week commencing 18 June. As is the nature of Events, there is an element of travel required and the need to stay away from base for events from time to time, including weekends. We’re very much a team at BBC Events and it’s our collective endeavour that helps our events run smoothly. This role looks assist the team with a range of admin and logistical tasks for our projects; you could be collecting bits from storage and driving to and from locations on day and helping to co-ordinate travel itineraries and completing venue searches the next. The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone personable with confidence and energy. While it might be an advantage, we don’t expect you to know how to use our systems, just to be ready to learn. Ideally you would be looking to start (or have recently started) a career in events or live broadcasting.
