Key responsibilities:

  • Component assembly of machines from standard operating procedures
  • Operators should have the capability of reading and interpreting drawings
  • Fault-find hydraulic and electrical faults within the assembly process
  • Ensure all health and safety protocol is practiced and procedures followed
  • Competence in dexterous hand assembly and processes to standard rates
  • Competent interface of manual operations to semi-automated machines
  • Competent control and operation of fully automated machines
  • Loading and transport of material/components/finished goods
  • General housekeeping duties
  • Project team activities
  • Support other departments when required
  • Any other duties deemed necessary for the benefit of the company and management

In-house training will be provided to ensure that the operator is proficient in the use of assembly tools, machines, and techniques to complete the required tasks.

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment would be desirable, but NOT essential
  • Good Communication / Organisation skills

  • Must be a good team player
  • Good time keeping skills

GCSE grades D (3) or above in Mathematics and English (or equivalent)

Production Operator permanent role available at end of apprenticeship for those candidates who show aptitude and desire to work within this area of work as well as achieving qualification. Starting salary at end of apprenticeship – £18.5k

From April 2018 the ANMW will be set at £3.70 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
