Based in Birmingham, The Perinatal Institute is an award-winning organisation that provides clinical software solutions to over 100 hospital Trusts in the UK and maternity units in an increasing number of interested countries abroad.

We are looking for a Maternity System Team Analyst and Data Manager who will play a key role in the acquisition, management, analysis and reporting of maternity data.

As the successful candidate you will have experience in maternity systems testing and data management. An understanding of technical systems and the maternity field will be required and previous experience in a maternity system development team is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Advising on the maternity system dataset
  • Creating, updating, maintaining, and improving reports
  • Mapping and creating dataflows and datasets
  • Assisting in data validation and cleansing
  • Creating data transformation plans
  • Maternity system testing
  • Writing automated tests
  • Maintaining test documentation/cases
  • Producing bug reports

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent
  • Experience working in a management information systems or data analyst role
  • Previous experience of presenting complex data in a user friendly format
  • Production of key performance indicator reports
  • Experience of working in a healthcare or similar administrative environment
  • Previous experience working with maternity datasets
  • Experience in translating requirements and software applications to testing scripts
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data to produce informative reports.
  • Thorough Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
  • Creation /manipulation of pivot tables/charts
  • Knowledge & experience of Microsoft TSQL and & Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
  • An understanding of testing software security
  • Good knowledge of how database driven website work
  • Knowledge of test methodologies and standards
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce and present complex information & reports to varied audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand end user requirements and to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

Location

The position is based in the centre of Birmingham within close walking distance to public travel and amenities. The prospective candidate should be willing to travel on international assignments if required.
